Our
process starts with your Vision. Some of our clients have
a clear vision of what they are looking for when they contact
us. Our role is to fulfill that vision with fine craftsmanship.
For others that are unsure, Valley Stone Works can help
with design ideas, suggestions, alternatives and options
which helps them clarify their vision.
Picking the right granite is an important process since
there are many color and pattern variations within each
variety of granite. At Valley Stone Works, we never ask
our clients to make a choice from small samples. Instead,
we meet them at the local slab yard to pick the granite
with the right style, colors and pattern for their taste.
We also seek slabs that minimize seams and allow us to place
the seams in the least prominent locations. Then, we inspect
the slabs for cracks or other flaws that can make them difficult
to work with.
Next, we visit the client’s home to template the
project. The templates serve as our blueprint to accurately
create the final product. When clients choose granites that
have prominent, unusualmovement and patterns, we invite
them to our facility to lay thetemplates on the slabs, so
we can place the most interesting elements where our clients
would like them.
After the templates are marked on the slabs, we saw the
slabs into the appropriate shapes. Rather than sawing with
an electric hand held saw, like many shops do, we have a
large computerized saw that produces a straight, even cut
every time.
Once the slab is cut into shape, our skilled craftsman
start working on the edge treatments. This process includes
laminating and polishing the edge to prepare the slab for
final installation.
Finally, our professional installation teams bring the
finished pieces to the client’s home to complete the
transformation.
